“Re-Imagining Baltimore” Fundraising Event

BALTIMORE, MD. – November 8, 2021 – Baltimore Community Lending (BCL) has announced that it will be hosting its “Re-Imagining Baltimore” fundraising ask event on Thursday, December 2 from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. Guests are invited to attend virtually, although limited spots are also available at the Reginald F. Lewis Museum. Bob Wallace, former mayoral candidate of Baltimore City, will be giving featured remarks; and U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen and U.S. Senator Ben Cardin will be special guest speakers. Long-time columnist for the Baltimore Sun, writer, and broadcaster Dan Rodricks has highlighted the fundraiser on his website: Dear Mike Bloomberg: A Request and an Invitation.

This event is an opportunity to support the community through interacting with various networks of supporters, including Corporate Sponsors, individual donors, community stakeholders, volunteers, neighbors, and friends, to continue to fund vital aspects of Baltimore Community Lending’s mission to “support the revitalization and strengthening of underserved Baltimore neighborhoods through innovative and flexible financial assistance designed to promote community development.” This event will support the development of a building for the BCL Business Development Center, where small businesses will collaborate to provide comprehensive technical assistance, training, business incubation, and co-working spaces with access to technology.

Supporters of “Re-Imagining Baltimore” will assist small business owners to keep their businesses open; ensure that families can stay in their affordable housing units; help to provide jobs to individuals who have lost their employment; and feed families who, because of losses caused by this pandemic, may not know where their next meal is coming from.

BCL is seeking Corporate Sponsorships. Funds generated from this event will directly benefit the purchase of a building for the BCL Business Development Center, which will benefit small businesses in the City of Baltimore.
