Connecting people with opportunities is what drives Sean Wilson to run his nonprofit, A Place To Call Home, while simultaneously owning and operating his realty business. When trying to work with lenders to procure and renovate homes to turn them into affordable housing for low-income families, A Place To Call Home continually encountered red tape that made it impossible to move forward. According to Mr. Wilson, getting a loan from BCL was “a much better, less complicated experience. They made me feel like a valued customer.” BCL staff coached him through the process of completing and finalizing the necessary documents for a loan, which allowed A Place to Call Home to acquire and renovate row homes in Ednor Gardens and West Baltimore.
