Black-owned businesses to support in honor of Juneteenth

As awareness of Juneteenth is becoming more widespread, more people are looking for ways to honor the holiday. Juneteenth, also known as Black Freedom Day or African American Emancipation Day, commemorates the arrival of federal troops in Texas on June 19, 1865 to announce that slavery had been abolished. Although the Emancipation Proclamation had been signed more than two years prior, people continued to be enslaved in Texas until they were finally freed on this day. Since then, communities in the United States and beyond have observed Juneteenth by celebrating Black freedom, success, and perseverance. One way to honor the spirit of Juneteenth is to support Black-owned businesses. Below is a list of Black-owned restaurants, stores, products, and services in the Baltimore region that Baltimore Community Lending is proud to serve, and hope you will support.
